Hamilton and Lake Erie Railway—Prosperity of the town.

Jarvis, Sept. 9.—Today at 2:30 o'clock the connection of the Hamilton and Lake Erie Railway was made with the Air Line of the Great Western here at Jarvis, thus completing the laying of the track this far. An engine came into the water tank this morning, so that the road is about ready for traffic and will soon be opened. This will the glad tidings for the farmers in this section of the country, who have experienced so much inconvenience for want of this road. The water-tank, engine-shed, and turn-table are built and nearly ready for use. There are two large grain warehouses being put up here and are progressing rapidly. They will soon be ready for storing grain. This will be an excellent grain market soon, owing to the railway facilities of the place. The village is flourishing since the big fire of May 24th. Several large brick buildings have gone up, and more are in course of construction.
