Application made by C.N.R. to close Doon station agency

(Special Despatch to The Globe.)

Kitchener, April 5.—The Canadian National Railways has made application to the Railway Board for permission to close the station agency at Doon. Residents of that village and the vicinity will right the application when it comes up for hearing. Many years ago there was a heavy trade from Doon, especially in freight, but of late years, railway officials claim, it has decreased a great deal, and now it is a losing proposition. The village is located eight miles from Kitchener, on the Galt-Kitchener branch of the C.N.R.
