Bush fire at Bala is held in control
Prospects are that men will subdue dangerous flames

Special Despatch to The Globe.
Bala, Aug. 26—Between Roderick and Medora the bush fire which assumed dangerous proportions yesterday for a time threatened to burn a path through the district of Muskoka. Tonight a large number of men from Bala are fighting it after it had spread two miles, and, with an even break, will get it under control.
The fire, which is about three miles distant from here, has already succeeded in destroying the Canadian National station at Medora and aided by a north wind that was blowing 30 to 40 miles an hour, at times swept down toward the lower reaches of the Moon River. The Town of Bala is in no immediate danger unless the wind should change to the west.
The outbreak is nearing the roadway, and if it does no jump it will soon spend itself. The Canadian Pacific Railway have a large force of men at Roderick, and late tonight report their area well under control.
