Burned to death
Mr. C. Barrow, Canadian National Railway section foreman at Washago, was burned to death in the wreck of a flanger near Parry SoundAccident occurred at BlackstoneIn Memoriam, The Liberal, February 22, 1924, pg. 4, col. 2., when the flanger was struck by a fast freight in a blinding snowstorm. The flanger was thrown from the track and caught fire from the small stove with which it was heated, and while every effort was made to rescue Mr. Barrow, the attempts all failed. The remains were brought to Richmond Hill for burial. Deceased was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Reuben Horner of this village. Besides a brother he leaves to mourn his loss a wife and two children.
