Trains will not required terminal clearance passing from one Subdivision to another at Merritton provided train order signal indicates "proceed".
Transformers loaded on flat cars received from N.S. & T. Rly. at Merriton must not be switched with, but must be set aside until switching completed.
Employees are forbidden to ride on top of cars or engines, while standing on, or moving over any portion of electrified section of N.S. & T. Rly., account danger from overhead wires.
Spring switch point derail on N.S. & T. Rly. main track opposite track scale. Normal position of switch is for N.S. & T. Rly. southward movements.
Signal No. 93—located at Mileage 9.3 is a color light type, manually operated and identified with the letter "A" and displays "stop" or "proceed" indication. This signal governs westward movements on Grimsby Subdivision. In the event of failure of signal to clear, trains will be governed by instructions of switchtender.
Junction switch with Grimsby Subdivision westward main track is interlocked with first switch of Thorold Subdivision south of Junction switch. Track leading off this switch is equipped with hand thrown derail. Rule 104B governs. Switch on Thorold Subdivision must be set for diverging track except when Junction is lined for movements to and from Thorold Subdivision.
Signal 71—Located at Mileage 7.10 is color light type, manually operated and identified by letter "A" and displays "stop" or "proceed" indication. This signal governs movements from Thorold Subdivision. In the event of failure of signal to clear, trains will be governed by instructions of switchtender.
Northward-westward extra trains in excess of 60 cars from the Thorold Subdivision having to set out, lift or take water, will see that rear of train is clear of Glendale Ave. (St. David Road) Crossing before such work is undertaken.
Trains may pass from one subdivision to another at Merritton without terminal clearance, provided train order signal indicates proceed.
Operator at Merritton must report to operator at Thorold, or, when no operator on duty there, to operator at Port Robinson, the time of arrival of trains or light engines at Merritton, but must not doe so until he has seen train clear Junction Switch leading to Grimsby Subdivision.
The foregoing does not relive enginemen or trainmen from complying with Rules Nos. 93 and 99.
