The James Bay to Depot Harbor portion of the Depot Harbor Subdivision has as its origin the Canada Atlantic Railway (C.A.Ry.), which opened from TBD to Rose Point TBD and from Rose Point to Depot Harbor TBD.
The South Parry to James Bay portion of the Depot Harbor Subdivision has as its origin the James Bay Railway (J.B.Ry.), which constructed a railway from the C.A.Ry. at Quebec Siding (James Bay Jct.) to Parry Sound in 1901.
