Fort Frances Subdivision bridge.—We are advised officially in connection with the reconstruction of the bridge over Sturegon River, mile 117.69, Fort Frances Subdivision, Ont., approved recently by the Board of Railway Commissioners, that the present structure, a 20 bent pile trestle, 284 ft. long with a maximum height of 36 ft., was built in 1901, at an approximate cost of $2,400 and was rebuilt in 1913. It is to be replaced by a 60 ft. deck plate girder span on concrete piers 32 ft. high with 7 bents of pile trestle at each end at 11 3/4 ft. centers of bents. The remaining 5 openings at the east end are to be filled in. The fabrication and erection of the steel span is to be done by contract, and the rest of the work by the railway's forces.
