Dorion Subdivision bridge.—We are advised officially that the bridge at Hogarth, Ont., mile 60 from Jellicoe, Dorion Subdivision, Hornepayne Division, Northern Ontario District, the reconstruction of which the Board of Railway Commissioners approved of by order 36,875, Oct. 2, is a timber trestle about 650 ft. long, on a 1 degree 51 min. curve, built about 15 years ago. For construction reasons the alignment is being diverted about 45 ft. north of the track, having a 2 degree 15 min. curve at the bridge. The new structure will consist of concrete abutments and a steel viaduct, with four 40 ft. towers carrying five 60 ft. spans, making a total length of 460 ft. 8 in. between back walls. The balance of the opening will be filled in. The substructure is being done by the railway's forces, and a contract has been let to Hamilton Bridge Works for the steel superstructure, which is designed to carry the heaviest traffic. The steelwork will be erected by the railway's forces.
