Port Huron grade separation work.—We are advised officially that this work covers separation of the grades of the Grand Trunk Ry.'s and Pere Marquette Rd.'s tracks from Twenty-fourth St. at Port Huron, Mich., where it crosses the railway tracks just west of the joint station. This separation is being made by depressing the street approximately 18 ft. with a slight raising of the tracks. The subway will be drained by gravity flow, and approximately 1,800 ft. of trunk sewer will be built for this purpose. The street work consists of plain concrete paving with 4 1/2% approach grades and sodded sloped embankments except along one section where retaining walls will be necessary on account of existing buildings. The general bridge structure consists of gravity type abutments with incased I-beam girder spans, which provide a flat deck clear of obstructions. The work is under the general supervision of a joint committee representing the two railway companies, the Michigan State Highway Department, and the Board of Road Commissioners, St. Clair County. The preparation of plans and the construction work is being handled by the Grand Trunk Western Lines under J. A. Heaman, Chief Engineer, and F. P. Sisson, Construction Engineer.

Railways: G.T.W.Rd., P.M.Rd.
