Lachine, Jacques Cartier and Maisonneuve Ry.—Application is being made to the Dominion Parliament for an extension of time for the building of the line authorized by sec. 1, chap. 104, statutes of 1911. One of the matters, and probably the main one now unsettled, is the purchasing of right-of-way. The Smythe estate, part of which is being acquired, is taking the matter to court, the difference is valuation being considerable. The price offered by the company works out at 17 cents a square foot, while the owners ask $1.25 a square foot.
