Joliette to Montréal.—A delegation from the Joliette area waited on the Dominion Government at Ottawa, June 5, and urged the construction of an extension of the National Transcontinental Ry., through Joliette County, Que., to Montréal. The usual promise of consideration was made. The Joliette and Northern Ry. has a Dominion charter for building a line from Joliette northerly, which became operation by proclamation on Jan. 19, the Montréal, Joliette and Transcontinental Ry., which also has a Dominion charter, having failed to deposit $39,500 as an earnest that it would proceed with the construction of its authorized line from Maisonneuve to Joliette and on to Parent on the N.T.Ry. (March, pg. 117.)

Railways: C.N.Rys., N.T.Ry.
