Oats from Chicago, coal from Sydney
A hundred thousand bushels of American oats were unloaded at the Midland Simcoe elevator last week, for later shipment to Peterboro. The grain was brought from Chicago by the
Robt. P. Durham, which after laying up for a few days, cleared light for Fort William.Two cargoes of coal were brought to Midland harbor during the week. The
Grandbycarried a load all the way from Sydney, N.S. She divided her cargo between the Simcoe and the Century Coal docks, unloading 100 tons at the former and 1,500 tons at the latter.The
Stadaconabrought a cargo of coal from Huron, the United States side, and unloaded at the Century dock.
