Big boat grounded near Collingwood

The 500-foot Upper Lake freighter Berryton, loaded with 300,000 bushels of wheat, grounded just outside the Collingwood harbor Monday morning. It is believed the ship missed the outer channel and piled onto a large rolling rock. She left Fort William with her cargo, bound for Collingwood terminal elevator. After several vain attempts to work the ship off the shoal, Capt. Stewart telephoned to Midland for a tug. While the wind blowing steadily, the captain believed there was no immediate danger.
