Orillia.—Mayor Curran yesterday had a telephone communication from the Canadian Northern Railway people in which they stated that it was their intention to commence operations this week on the branch running into Orillia. A representative of the company will be here Thursday to look over the ground and make a choice of location of route, station, etc. In answer to an enquiry Mr. Mann stated that they expected to be running trains into Orillia before the snow flies. Work would probably have been started earlier, but up to this week the bonds which were guaranteed by the Legislature had not actually been signed by the Provincial Treasurer.—News-Letter.
