Ratepayers discuss overhead bridge for Raikes' crossing.—A surprise party.

A meeting of the ratepayers was called Saturday, the 19th, for the purpose of discussing the proposed overhead bridge at Mr. Raikes crossing. Mr. Raikes acted as chairman, Messrs. Ball, Campbell and MacArthur, councillors, gave their views on the question, also Col. O'Brien, Messrs. Geo. Raikes, Williams, Geo. Malcolm, Henry Packard and several others, Messrs. Ball, Campbell and Raikes being appointed to meet the Railway Commission at Toronto.
