The snow blockade.
The block on the railroads last Friday was worse than ever, and the Canadian Pacific was one of the greatest suffers. All the northern branches of the Canadian Pacific were completely snowed up, and trains had to be cancelled. From Streetsville to Orangeville, from Teeswater, and from there to Owen Sound not a train was moving. The main line on the Canadian Pacific between Detroit and Toronto and Montréal was open in a partial way. The train from Detroit was just a little over 24 hours late when it reached Toronto. The Northern division of the Grand Trunk continues cut off from the outside world. Such points as Penetanguishene in on direction, Beeton, Haliburton and Lakefield, it is impossible to reach at all. Lines north of Palmerston are tied up, and attempts to run passenger trains through have been given up.
