C. N. O. connection.

As an outcome of the letter read (re the connection between the Metropolitan and the Canada Northern), on the night of the nomination, the Metropolitan sent an engineer up to view the ground to the north of the village, and, upon reporting to the management, another official was sent up last Thursday, and in company with Reeve-elect Pugsley and Councillors Nicholls and Sanderson interviewed Mr. Geo. Robinson re right-of-way, and succeeded in coming to terms with him. The right-of-way gives the Metropolitan Railway 400 feet on Yonge St. from the southern boundary of Robinson's land (this includes the house and lot on Yonge St.) and thence along Robinson's southern boundary to the C.N.Ry. The idea is to switch from the Metropolitan at the northerly limit of land thus purchased and angle to the south until they come upon the strip along the line fence, and then directly east until they strike the C.N. tracks, where another connection will be made. This is a very important connection and cannot but prove of great benefit to the village.
