Otonabee River bridge.—We are advised officially in connection with the Board of Railway Commissioners' order the recontruction of the superstructure of the bridge across the Otonabee River, mile 64.178, Campbellford Subdivision, Belleville Division, Montréal District, that the present bridge was built at 1887 by Central Bridge and Engineering Co., Peterborough, Ont. It consists of one through plate equal arm swing span 126 ft. and two 86 ft. deck plate girder spans resting on masonry piers and abutments. The new superstructure, designed to carry the heavier locomotives and rolling stock, will consist of one equal arm through plate swing span, 126 ft. long and two 86 ft. deck plate girder spans, to be supported on the existing piers and abutments. A contract for the fabrication of the steel work has been let to Canadian Bridge Co., for delivery in March. The new superstructure will be erected by the railway's forces, and is expected to be completed before the opening of navigation.
