Souris River bridge.—We are advised officially in connection with the reconstruction of the bridge over the Souris River, mile 15, Wawanesa Subdivision, Manitoba District, that the existing bridge from east to west consists of 2 standard pile openings built in 1910, two 80 ft. deck HOw truee spans built in 1908 and replaced recently by temporary trestle openings, built in 1910. The middle pier between the 2 truss spans is of concrete, built in 1908, all the other superstructure being of timber. The new work consists of two 80 ft. deck plate girder spans replacing the 2 truss spans; the building up of the central concrete pier to receive the expansion ends of the new spans, and the construction of 2 concrete piers to contain about 500 cubic yards of concrete, to support the shore ends. The substructure work is being done by the railway's forces, and the new spans, fabricated by the Dominion Bridge Co., and on hand, will be erected by the railway's Bridge Engineer's special crew.
