Orono Subdivision track removal.—With reference to the Board of Railway Commissioners' order 37,084, Dec. 23, 1925, authorizing the operation of trains over a new track connecting the Orono and Lake Subdivisions in Port Hope, Ont., we are advised officially that the former Canadian Northern Ry.'s Toronto-Ottawa track, between Port Hope and Cobourg, parallels very closely the Grand Trunk Montréal-Toronto track for about 7 miles. It has been decided to remove the rails from the 7 miles of Canadian Northern Ry. track. A connection, 2,932 ft. long, has been built between the Orono and Lakefield Subdivisions in Port Hope, to allow Orono Subdivision trains to be operated to and from the G.T.R. station in Port Hope. This connecting track extends from mile 64.98 from Todomorden on the Orono Subdivision, to mile 2.15 on the Lakefield Subdivision.
