Souris Subdivision bridge.—We are advised officially that the original bridge over the Souris River, at mile 174 from Winnipeg on the main line, Hartney Subdivision, consisted of one through Howe truss span of 156 ft. resting on timber pile trestle, with 180 ft. of standard timber trestle approaches, and was built in 1905. This is to be replaced by deck plate girder spans, on a now abandoned portion of the main line crossing the McLeod River, west of Edmonton, Alta., resting on 3 concrete piers and abutments on timber piles. All the work will be done by the railway's forces.
