G.T.R. renews Wabash lease
Detroit, March 16.—It was announced hear today that the Grand Trunk Railway has renewed for twenty-one years the lease had by the Wabash Railway on the line between Windsor and Black Rock.
The announcement of the lease renewal came as a surprise to local Wabash official, who understood the Wabash was negotiating with the Nickel Plate for an American outlet to the east. A few years ago it is understood the Wabash paid $180,000 a year, together with certain stipulations regarding maintenance of way and other charges, for running rights over the Grand Trunk.
